Dr. Zhuangchai Lai is currently an Assistant Professor at Department of Applied Physics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received my Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Hua Zhang in Oct. 2018 from School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. After that, He have worked as a postdoctoral fellow for more than three years at Nanyang Technological University and City University of Hong Kong. Since Jan. 2022, He joined the Department of Applied Physics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor. His current research interest is focusing on the controlled synthesis of two-dimensional van der Waals materials, especially those with unconventional phases which exhibit fascinating physicochemical properties and great potential in various applications such as catalysis, energy, electronics, and condensed matter physics. Meanwhile, he have published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in many journals, including Nat. Mater., Nat. Rev. Chem., Chem. Soc. Rev., Chem, J. Amer. Chem. Soc., Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Small, J. Mater. Chem. A, etc, with a total citation over 7,200 and a H-index of 35 (based on google scholar)
